What's in your food today?
An unfortunate side effect of the contemporary world is that naturally occurring, nutrient-rich foods are becoming a thing of the past. Eons of the vegetation growth along with aggressive modern farming techniques have raised many of the earth's minerals to the surface where they are often washed away to the oceans.
While a healthy and balanced diet is a far better option than the fast food diet that millions of Australians and New Zealanders now have, many would be shocked to learn that even our basic foods no longer have the necessary nutrients that our bodies so desperately require.
Our natural resources are becoming depleted as a result of erosion, over-harvesting, and the failure to re-mineralise the very soil in which we grow our food staples.
When people consume a diet derived from depleted crops, the intake of essential elements becomes inadequate. Combine this with the fast paced societies we exist in and impairment of vital physiological functions begins to occur, consequently resulting in disease.
